Don"t Give Up - You Have Options After Your Girlfriend Dumps You!

Getting used to life without your girlfriend can be challenging, to say the least. Yet, you know that deep down, if you don’t give her some space, the relationship is truly over. You’re at a crossroads at the moment: you can either continue to harass her with phone calls and text messages, or you can do the only sensible thing and leave her alone until the situation calms down.

Obviously, if you love her, you want to do everything in your power to ensure that you stand a chance at getting her back, yet you may be fighting an overpowering urge to send just one more message – one more chance to make the pain stop. In short, you need to “fix” the relationship. The alternative? Having to face life on your own.

Truly, there’s nothing more depressing than struggling through life without your loved one by your side. Everything seems to remind you of her, and finding things to do that don’t trigger those memories can be challenging. Here are five ways to get on with your life while you take a temporary break from your girlfriend:

1. Throw away your old schedule. If you continue to do on your own, what you did as a couple, you’re going to end up torturing yourself. While you’re at it, try to avoid the same venues you frequented together. Showing up at the same club and trying to have a good time without your partner is simply going to end up depressing you.

2. Find some new interests. It’s a big world out there and there’s nothing stopping you from exploring new activities and hobbies. You don’t have to compromise anymore – simply do what you want. Everyone has something they have been aching to do, but held off because their partner wasn’t crazy about it.

3. Avoid hanging out with common friends. If you and your girlfriend shared a group of friends, it may be a good idea to avoid this crowd temporarily. If you constantly run into her, you’re going to keep starting off from square one again. Look up some old friends you haven’t talked to for a while, or get out there and make some new friends.

4. Take this opportunity to improve your life. Lose weight, get fit, go back to school, or take that dream vacation you’ve always wanted. Don’t waste this time – it can truly be a blessing in disguise. Self-improvement is always a good thing and can pay dividends down the road. Besides, by achieving goals, we improve our self-esteem – and that’s always beneficial – especially when you’re trying to get by without your girlfriend.

5. Keep on her good side. This doesn’t mean you have to suck up to her, but you should avoid creating animosity at all costs, if you ever want to rekindle the relationship. Avoid losing your temper, don’t harass her, stop looking for answers, don’t show her how desperate you are, and stop feeling like a victim. Be courteous towards her, but let her see that you’re getting on with your life just fine. Do this, and you may find that she starts changing her stance towards you. We all want what we can’t have, and the principal of scarcity can truly work wonders.
